People of Westmeath are being encouraged to get involved in National Heritage Week by organising an event in their community. National Heritage Week 2011 takes place nationwide from August 20 to 28. Online registration is now open and all events must be registered by May 31 for inclusion in the National Heritage Week event guide.

Expansion for Mayo Volunteer Centre

New funding for Mayo Volunteer Centre is set to extend the agency’s services on a countywide basis, opening up opportunities both for volunteers and employers requiring volunteers throughout Mayo. The launch of the extended service will take place later this month and mark the opening of a second office for the agency in Castlebar, to add to its existing office in Ballina.
